PM Times change... Excuse my poor english!
My friend, there are 8 light sources per polygon, you can''t have more than 8 (unless there is an extention i don''t know about...), but you can reinit them for other polygons...

so what ur saying Anonymous is if i have say 100 polygons i can have 800 lights total?
opengl supports 8 light sources GL_LIGHT0->GL_LIGHT7 , lighting is a per vertex operation that means you cant have more than 8 lights/vertex(I think this is what the anonymous poster tried to say)
---sorry for not using proper english , I'm from latin roots
is there any way to have more lighting even if it is fake? say i have 20 players in a room all firing guns. how would i do the muzzle flashes? i want some sort of flash to reflect off of the walls.

Lightmaps?
Gaiomard Dragon-===(UDIC)===-
you could make the light jump from gun to gun real quick if its flashes.... That way you wouldn''t need multiple ones, you''d just have like 1 that''s constantly switching to whatever gun was fired...
thats a REALLY good idea!! i never thought of that. thanks

(I''m that annonymus) yes i tried to say that, and thx liKen for correcting me
Actually you can have as much polygons as you want (as your vcard lets you have actually ) and set light source for each of them (either for each vertex).
It''s really good idea to use one light source and to make it rush from one gun to another! GREAT!
