Looking for artists
Hello!
We are a 10 man german game-development team and want to create a racing-game in our spare-time. Unfortunately, we lack of artists. So I would like to ask, if there are any capable modelers and texture-painters in this forum. A big plus would be any knowledge in HLSL/PixelShader/VertexShader and is highly appreciated.
If someone is interested, my ICQ# is 159134127.
thanks,

i think there is a distinction between an artist and a 3d modeler.
Ouch that hurts, 3d modelers aren''t artists ?
painters, modelers, singers, actors ...they''re all artists. Like cats and dogs are both animals.

I think his comment was more along the lines that an artist is generally considered to be a painter, sketch artist, etc.. The generally accepted definition just doesn''t include computer stuff like 3D modellers, etc..
I mean, realistically, I could call practically any profession an art. IE: an accountant that has good experience getting maximal tax returns for his clients.

well, 3d modeling does have an element of art. however i would consider it more along the line of architecture... sort of like autocad of what not, but with textures...
thats just my opinion

Maaaaaaaahahaha. Who''s da king baby?
Hi again.
First of all, to clear the situation:
Modelers, texture-painters _are_ artists. Unfortunately we do not have that many creative people in our team. We have got exactly one modeler.
So if there exists any interest, please contact me under my ICQ# i have mentioned above.
I give you further information about the project:
The game is probably going to be a fun racer, with hovers and weapons.
The engine is using DirectGraphics 9. It uses the HLSL for effect Rendering.

Sorry for going off topic... but:
I''d like to say that 3d modelers are artists. Anybody that creates something is an artist, or an inventor of sorts.
Purely my opinion.

Does this not belong in help wanted?
