No, not glut. Glut is something different.

If you''re on Debian: apt-get install xlibmesa-dev glut3g-dev

If you installed the NVIDIA Linux drivers before, please reinstall them; I experienced some problems after installing xlibmesa-dev (it overwrites NVIDIA''s version of OpenGL with a software render).

On other Linux distributions, search for "mesa" on your cds. And install the packages you found. Again please reinstall the NVIDIA drivers afterwards.
