How about a new kind of game?
I was dwelling on this after finishing MGS2:SoL, so you may notice some slight similatities. It all came from a weird thought I had.
A dual interactive game. A game that quite literally blurs the line between fantasy and reality to the point where people don''t know what is real and what is not. A complete new genre. A brainfsck. Basically, you set up the entire reality of the game using both the computer and human interaction.
It all starts out simple. Sort of like that failed online game a while back that would send you faxes, call you and crap. All well and good, but to a more intense degree. Lets ignore all the cost restrictions for now.
So the player signs up for the game, and maybe once in a while he''ll get a phone call from a pre-recorded message. Now, depending on how he responds to the phone call (ie through a website or something) could determine what happens next. Now here is where it gets more intense.
Depending on the players dedication to the game, and their responses, more interesting things may happen, an actual phone call from a real person, to a very well orchastrated contest winning where the player gets a free trip to a tropical island where we could mess with their head and do things like simulate a terrorist attack.
I really don''t know where I''m going with this, but would you like a game to mess with your head to this extent?

How''s this for a game. Eat some mushrooms and watch war movies on a big screen.
I don''t think anyone would make or play such a game. Sorry.

Watch the movie, "The Game" and think about it...it would cost so much to do, only really rich people can afford it. B-)

I saw the movie "The GAme" and i did steal some elements from that, but I want it to be even more intense, with explosions and natural disasters and the like.

Hmm... One question... What does it have to do with a computer game?
Don''t get me wrong, this is, well, an interesting concept (even though I wouldn''t want to play it, and would probably get sued by someone if I developed it)
, but would you call it a computer game?

WEll, it would start under the guise of a computer game. You send an e-mail, you get one back, but then eventually it becomes more interactive. Use the failed game "Majestic" as a reference.

I think you should send this idea to the Fox network as a proposal for their next reality show :-P
I hate FOX
They''d only cancel it.

What is wrong with a game that only the rich can play? Better than a game that only the dirt poor would want to play.
that is if you are in the industry professionally, and you like to eat.

I dunno if this would work. First of all, how could a pre-recorded message accept a response and handle within ONE CERTAIN GAME. Plus a fax machine number, phone calls, etc., would be a problem to one person''s privacy. And if it worked, exactly how many employees and products would you need to continue it? And WHY would the contest winner you spoke of want to go to a tropical island where he is always hit by terrorist attacks? Rethink this one.
