What are the going rates for 2d art work? How do artist usually determine this? Thanks! knine
If i was a properly working artist then i could tell you. As far as i know you looking at around $50 for a black and white piece of line art, a4 size etc double or more for color, as far as i know though most artist assess the job and if a massive amount of time is required either a fee will be arranged or the artist will charge an hourly rate.

If there is any pro artists that frequent this board and know different shout up i for one would like to know for when i do start charging in a couple of years.

If your talking about pixel art just ingnore me :-)

Peace

im not the person to ask for a price, but it would be helpful to know what kind of artwork? i mean, just some concept art, or all the artwork for your game, or some cover art?

or just a b/w drawing?

want to know the rates do u? Well the first thing u need to do is take a good look at ur work.. and then u got to ask urself, how much would people be willing to pay for it? A key trait for an artist is the ability to judge their own work...to find mistakes which can be improved appon the next time.

if that dont work, try this

how much u make at ur current job * number of hours it took to make the picture.
freelance: 30-80$*hours, depending on how good you are.
