Creating art for RTS

Can somebody tell me how do professionals create 2D graphics for RTS games (units, buildings, etc.)? Do you use 3DS MAX and then convert it to flat graphics or do you use photoshop? Thank you, Marek Dzikiewicz

Ok, I''ll expand. It''s whatever works for the current situation. For me (and this is of course assuming I''m a professional) it starts with a sketch on paper. Then I build and texture a model in Max. At this point it is rendered out at the desired angle. And finally, some fine turning in PaintShop and/or Photoshop. Although, I have been known to skip the max step and just work with the sketch in photoshop/paintshop.

Did you have a specific reason for asking? (If I may ask).
