Sprite editor for linux
Hello,
Anyone knows a good sprite editor for linux? I''m not interested in apps like GIMP or PhotoShop, I want something like Deluxe Paint II for MS-DOS...
Thanks a lot,

Well, I''ve never used Deluxe Paint II, but if you''re looking for something simple (yet more powerful than, say, that paint program that comes with Windows), there''s always good old xpaint.
I never found anything like deluxe paint for linux or FreeBSD. When I do sprite art I dual-boot into windows to use Pro-Motion. Its a great deluxe paint clone.

On linux/freebsd The Gimp works fairly well. kpaint is ok. xpaint is horrible.
If you search around you can find people working on deluxe paint clones for linux/freebsd but I haven''t found any in usable form.

GIMP is amazing. Never heard of deluxe paint.
As for sprites... There is that Render->Grid thing in gimp if thats what you''re looking for?
