has anyone used ximian gnome? when you first install it you get loads of options to choose the layout and appearance of loads of stuff but now i want to change these choices but can;t find that program again. anyone have any ideas? i tried the gnome control center but this doesn''t give the same options. hopefully someone can help me?

I think that what you''re looking for is Red Carpet. I''ve never been able to get Ximian to run on my boxes.

thanks for your suggestion dude, but its a different program that automatically runs the first time you run the new installation (after you restart X) rather than red carpet. i did however fix my problem by just deleting the .gnome directory in my home directory so all the settings reverted back to default. the original problem was that in this mysterious program i chose loads of options that i thought were cool but quickly turned out to be totally impractical.

I stumbled on this question late, but the program you were looking for is "doorman" (run it from an xterm - it''s not in any of the menus that I''m aware of).
