MMORPG and working within a MMORPG
Basically in life most get their money from working in a job
In MMORPG’s they get money usually from killing something and ripping it’s skin off to sell.
I’m not proposing a JOB SIM game lol
But there is scope for this idea, lets say a day in game last 10 15 mins ?
You choose to spend a day working on a player built house or the town church, ship. dock anything, for this you are paid obviously and get some faction, indeed you helped build this town !!
It needn’t be boring you may be a policeman for a day or fire fighter, bounty hunter, detective, postman, soldier the rates would be market driven on supply and demand.
Currently we have a primitive kill loot kill loot job with the odd quest and a few trade skills.
What I’m proposing is that MMORPG’s need an employment system to bind the online world together, it’s social systems, faction, economy justice etc. it may be you choose a career in hunting and spend your time ripping the skins off stuff but it should be one small option with many many alternatives.
What do you think ?.

You aught to see the game I’m designing …. Naah it’ll never get developed, fun designing it though lol

UO already has a sytem like this in place. Players can take resources and make items out of them. They can then sell on these itmes. Home enterprise at it''s best.. lol
If at first you don''t succeed, call it version 1.0

I think you missed the point Doodle I''m not explaining it again .. and no UO doesn''t have a system like this.
The idea of such a "earn money" game is very interesting. You would need a lot of players to make this mini-economy work, though.
UO does have a system like this, there is no argument, its a fact.
There are people who benefit from becoming a blacksmith, grandmaster one. There are also people who benefit from getting their armor repaired by that blacksmith. Its the same in economy where consumers benefit from a company''s product as the company benefits from the consumer''s money spent.
It goes hand in hand. UO''s system may not be like yours in the fact that it doesnt have people in buisness suits, or fire fighters in fire trucks in some 3d generated city, but it still has a basic economic system. The entire game is based around it.
