How do you change your screen resolution in X? ATM I''ve just got the resolution I want to use in the mode line in my XF86Config file. What''s the way your actually ment to do this. Oh and where is the list of modules that get loaded at bootup and how do you add to it? I''ve just found out that getting my sound to work is as easy as typing ''modprobe ymfpci'' it''s just it looks like the module isn''t getting loaded at bootup how can I can do this? Thanks for the help

AFAIK, that''s the only way to do it.

Its the /etc/modules.conf file. That hold all the modules that are loaded at startup/on-demand. You should add something like

alias snd-slot-0 ymfpci

and you''re sound module should be loaded at boot time.

If you put a bunch of modes in there, you can change between them using Alt+Plus and Alt+Minus.
Thanks guys
for me switching modes in X is CTRL alt + and CTRL alt -

I don''t know if mine is just set differently or if he forgot a ctrl - in either case good luck
I forgot the Ctrl.
