i like the light hearted, and humorous idea.
Now, why would they be squirrels? why not chipmunks or bats or rabbits?
Power in numbers? is that what you''re pushing?
why are the soldiers trying to kill the squirrels?
is it going to be like a real time strategy game, or an rpg, an fps, what?
whatever it is, it sounds like a refreshing change.

Sounds funny. I am against the prospect of arming the squirrels, though. I think it''ll be funnier if the squirrels just attack you like squirrels, by biting. And the humans attack like humans, with ludicrously extravagant weaponry - machine guns, grenades, rockets, etc. Tanks as you said, too.

Here''s an idea... Every FPS with Marines has to have Heat Seeking rockets right? Well This is a great way to hit those squirrels that run fast and dodge. On the other hand if the squirrels running away from it run between a Marines legs have the rocket look onto the Marine! Just think of all the cursing and screaming they be doing as they realized that the rocket they just shot is chasing them.

i could just imagine marines... walking through the forest... when they hear a sharp whistle, look up... and see about 5 million acorns raining down on them.
