I''m mostly a programmer, but recently (about a month ago) I started learning how to draw. So far I got about a couple of dozen drawings, and I posted best ones on my website, ionware.8m.com . If you can, please evaluate how well I can draw after one month. Although I didn''t drew much on games development (e.g character sketches), please go easy on me. Thanks. " Do we need us? "

I went to the site, but I''m not sure where the pictures are. I clicked the Arts and Media link, which didn''t look like it had your drawings.

Have you tried the mirror site? I''m sorry I haven''t updated the site at 8m.com, it is updated now. If you stil can''t see them (they are on the bottom of the page, best to use Internet Explorer) try this link: http://acolyte.ozforces.com.au/artsandmedia.htm

Pretty good for drawing only a month. Keep practicing every day and you could get pretty good. I just got interested in art myself, although I had been kind of interested in it when I was younger. Two good message boards for drawing I have found are conceptart.org and Sijun''s site. You can get good pointers at those places.
Hm..I''m a programmer myself, and partial artist and want to comment on some of your drawings:

The Quake logo:
Pay attention to the details. Your logo seems to be slightly slanted a little bit, it''s balancing problem.

Human faces:
No comment. It''s everyone''s preference to draw human faces in any ways they like.

Weapons:
Nice.

Others:
Also, pay attention to the details. Your drawings seem to be done in a hurry. How much do you spend for each drawing? I''m not a quite patient artist, but I realize how important it is to be patient while sketching. My friend can spend 9 hours on his sketches (no break), the results? Marvelous and realistic. 2 hours is my maximum time in sketching (it''s a picture of Holy Mary), I can''t do more than that, but 10 hours programming is OK

Overall, you show a good talent there. Some people just can''t draw that well. Keep on working.

My compiler generates one error message: "does not compile."

Thanks for saying that, but I don''t think I have any talent in
drawing something. As I stated before, I''m trying to LEARN how to draw by the lessons given in the book I''ve been reading. Sometimes I spend an hour or two for some drawings, sometimes I spend less than half an hour. You might say that this is strange, but my thoughts are that all that will come with skill (the patience and attention to details). Thanks anyway, nicho_tedja, you gave me some directions I should follow on my way to become a better artist.
Also thanks to mtw for those excellent links, although I found some good ones too, these are really nice ones. Here are the ones I''ve found:
