Game Institute.com
Hi all,
If you monitor this forum regulary you might remember a discussion regarding gameinstitute''s courses, specifically the beginning C++ course. Someone asked me to let them know how it was going, well I have just finished week 3''s material (6 Week course).
I have just covered classes, inheritance and polymorphism. This was by far the hardest week so far but after numerous re-reads and playing around with the supplied source code I feel I pretty much understand all what was covered.
Next weeks stuff (available Thursday 15th) covers the game loop, win32 programming and class frameworks. Then its on to Direct X.
I know some people say a good book would teach you more but I have tried learning from books and for me it doesn''t work very well. I use them for reference and to re-inforce what I know but reading through a 600 page book can get heavy going for me. The gameinstitute course is a better way to learn for me personnally.
BTW: I am no way involved with the gameinstitue.com and this is not a plug, just thought some beginners might be interested in this.

Apparently GameInstitute.com is very good. It got an excellent review on flipcode.com:

I''m saving my pennies for a few of those courses myself.

I am trying to save some coin to get in. I just confused with some coding and back to square one for me.
