I''ve been reading some AI books recently and have come up with some thoughts. I put them out on the internet here- http://firefly2442.tripod.com/theories.html I was just wondering if people would read them and tell me whether or not they have any merit. I''ve just started out with AI so some of it might not be very clear or maybe this has already been considered. -Thank you. http://abyssgames.cjb.net

Looks more like Zen Buddhism than AI Sorry

It's the kind of thing you might think about when contemplating the nature of intelligence or consciousness, which you will generally consider if thinking about the vague field of AI as a whole, but I'm not sure it has much relevance to actual AI implementation, especially in games. No doubt somebody will disagree with me though.

Makes me remember Matrix lol
AI could be dangerous.. imagine if it "thinks" that we are a virus to exterminate or something :D

Farewell
Might I suggest that you get hold of several books and have a read. On the intelligence front, try

"The Emperor''s New Mind" by Penrose; and,
"Consciousness" by Chalmers; and,
anything written by Daniel Dennett.

What you are talking about in your musings is more on the philosophical issues of intelligence, as Kylotan points out. While some see AI as the creation of human-like intelligence and the mimickry of human cognitive processes, others see AI completely differently... from the point of intelligent behaviour.

Suggesting that you read widely is the best response I can give to your remarks.

Cheers,

Timkin
