I know a fair amount of C++, and I have already made a couple of programs (Just little text-based RPGs and such). There is someting I don''t get though..Direct X!!! It is very frustrating because I read some of the tutorials and I don''t know what the heck they are talking about! Can someone suggest some books, or online tutorials, that are for someone who wants to start programming in DX? Not any of the ''intermediate'' tutorials -- just plain newbie stuff.

Kind of OT but what happened to the group who were making a new directX site? Is that finished/forgotten/under construction?

If you want to do 3D, nexe is a pretty good site. Also might recommend AndyPike. They have some pretty good tutorials too.

If your looking to do 2D, then I would most definately suggest CDX. It's a set of classes to wrap DX for 2D games. Very complete and very functional. Also has a great support structure. I've been one of the maintainers for it for a few years and love it.

Always remember, you''re unique. Just like everyone else.

EDIT: Wow, don't forget the double quote in a link...
