Hi. From what ive read 14 isn't that young to start programming it seems there are people who start earlier (8 is the youngest ive seen). I also started at 14 (2 years ago). Well to answer your question C++ is included with Visual Studio. It's called Visual C++ surprisingly enough

Hi there. Yes it most certainly is, in fact if you plan to program in c++ you can buy this part separately.
14 ain''t young, many members here are around that age. Good luck with everything, one piece of advice is to use the beginners'' forum and articles to start with or you might get people moaning when the same question comes up for the 10000000th time.
Cheers, have fun.

Before you need to ask, for tutorials I would suggest www.cprogramming.com and www.gametutorials.com both of which have good tutorials and guides to C++. Good luck

Well, I believe I too started when I was 14.
But it was not a good start.
I bought a C++ book, read it and did not understand a single word .

Ha! I got it beat, I started at 6 (but then I quit for 8 years so it doesn''t really count).

FeatherWeight: welcome to GameDev! Just remember the golden rule, never give up. Programming can be very hard, but if you keep at it you will master it.

hah, I got you all so far, I started around 9. And I didn''t
quit just switched languages n'' stuff.
Anyway Nice To Meet You FeatherWeight, Can''t wait
To see your first programs. I too share your dream
of becoming a pro. Maybe we''ll work together someday
Good Luck To the Both of Us.

Hey thanx for all your welcomes its greatly appreciated...
here are my thoughts at the moment

1. My idea at the moment is too make an 2D multiplayer game... i need alot of help in this... i can do graphics because i have made many mods for games like quake1.2.3./rtcw/ etc. but obviously the reason i am here is because i need help in the scripting area of things I have only just installed C++ today and dont have a clue what to do... i was told to ask in the begginers forum and some websites but the websites confuse me and i thought u guys would know alot better than the begginers... so here i am... if any of you have msn/icq numbers and you think you can help me then they would be GREATLY appreciated so much that i'll have your babies lol errrr well i think thats about it for now... and please i know im a n00b so dont remind me

Thanx
Cya for now

Greetings
Paul
