I''m looking for a 3d modeler. I have gmax right now but I''m not sure if it can be used to create models for use in actual games or if it is just for modding already made games with built in gmax support. Bleu Shift - www.bleushift.tk
I recommend that you get Rhinoceros 3D V2.0. It can save MANY file formats ( .3ds, .3dm, and more! ). Me and my friends have a group, TriFaze, and right now we are making a 2D RPG. The sequel will be done in 3D, so we will use DirectX 8.1 and Rhino 3D V2.0. You can download an evaluation at http://www.rhino3d.com/download.html. I think that''s right. Anyhow, it costs about $700 to buy, and $200+ to upgrade from a previous version. If you don''t want to buy it, download it on iMesh, http://www.imesh.com.

I hope this helps!

I'll have a link to the TriFaze website as soon as possible. It's still currently being designed, by myself of course! =) I'll update the URL and my signature as soon as possible.Feel free to send me a message on Yahoo! or AOL IM™. =)

Speaking of 3D modeling programs, how good is Lightwave 3D when creating models for a game? I have used it for a while to try it out, and it works really great for me.
