I have been trying to find anything that gives a complete spec on the mp3 file format. Does anyone know where I can find a book or url that will give me the full spec on mp3 including encoding and decoding header info if any etc. Basically a comprehensive look at mp3.

If you want to put mp3s in a game, I would ask the team that is making Heathen. They used mp3s for music on the demo that they released.

MP3!? Well, was surfing around this gigantic network that some nice person has set up!!!! Anyways, I found this site www.wotsit.org which has loads of information about diffrent file formats, and I think that somewhere there was something about MP3s. Check it out!!!

if you don''t want your game / app be freeware, think about using another file-format or using DirectMedia / Aureal / ... because the Frauenhofer Institut wants hugh license fees for using MP3 if you use it commercially.

Sounds like serious head-work to me, I''d go for an easier format myself (but then I''m lasy).

Last time I looked, Wotsis''s didn''t have a very useful MP3 documentation, but then I haven''t been there for ages.
