I am building a robot, it will have image reconigion and pathfinding, plus the ALICE Chatterbot AI. I want to know a good way to implement all of this. Like, I want to tell it to go find me an Apple, and it should kinda know what an Apple looks like for pictures and the like. I think I'm going to need a Neural Network for the Image Reconigion but I'm not sure how to tie all of this together, does anyone have any thoughts? There''s been some discussion about this robot at the www.generation5.org forum. Plz ask there, as motters, a regular, knows a lot about this sort of thing and is very helpful. In fact he is currently working on the very system you are describing.

Timkin/Steve: Is there a FAQ for the AI forum? We seem to be getting quite a few ''robot'' based questions now and it might be a good idea to make them an addition to the FAQ. What do you think?

Using the Alice AI is a great choice; it''s really quite nicely put together.

There are a few robotics links on my Game AI site; click on the "Robotics" link at the bottom to get to them. Not sure if they''ll help you any more than one of the forums on Generation5 though, as fup has suggested.
