Updated my journal...

Is it just me, or does anyone else hear the voice of "The Nameless One" from Planescape: Torment everytime they add a new journal entry? "Updated my journal..."

More practice in the creative side. Firstly, I've posted a couple of pieces of music up for review, which can be found on a thread I've started over here. I'd appreciate any tips on how to become a better composer.

Secondly, my pixel art skills have now progressed into the world of animation! Check out "generic RPG lady #1"

It's a 16x16 bit RPG sprite! Since that's way too tiny on today's monitors, I've made her a little bigger in the second one.

It's almost the weekend, and I think I need some better organisation of exactly what I need to get done over the next few months, so I think it's time for a bit of planning. Then if I have any extra time for game work, I'll see if I can get started working on some space themed sprites.

Or I might just end up replaying Planescape: Torment again. You never know.

Good job with "Generic RPG Lady #1" (what a catchy name!). I'll head over and check out those compositions later, see if I can give you some feedback.

That's pretty good, but I think when a sprite has that much hair, it should be animated slightly as well. Maybe have it swing back in front of her face or something, or just move the lighter pixels about.

OR bob up and down, that would be cool. Nice job, again.

I agree, it looks a lil funny when her head remains exactly still and her tiny body just sways back and forth underneath her.

I know, it does look a bit weird. I tried making her hair sway, but I couldn't get it to look right. If I were making a console RPG, I'd work on that a bit more, or maybe give her a haircut.

I suppose I should start working on space sprites, since that's the theme of my first game, but the tutorial was focused on RPGs.

Besides, I'm going to need both animated sprites and grass in the game I'm planning on building after the space shooted, tentatively entitled "Lawn Defender". And yes, I know it's a bit odd that I'm already planning the game after the game I'm building now (I'm actually planning a sequence of around four or five games leading into the type of indie quality work I want to make).

Yes I know this post is several months (Years?) Old, but I just want to say that:

The Crystal Caverns (2:39, 1.7Mb)

Rocks :D

Are there any rights to it, or is it freely available to use in any Indie Games as we please? :)

Would you mind if I used that sprite for a project?
