Hey everyone!
I’m thrilled to share the very first showcase video of my indie game, Rolling Bombs. It's been an incredible year full of learning, challenges, and creativity. This post is all about reflecting on my journey so far and giving you a sneak peek into what’s coming next.
The Game: Rolling Bombs
Rolling Bombs is a 3D platformer featuring unique rolling mechanics. You play as various bomb characters, each with distinct attributes like weight, spin, and explosive timing. The goal is to roll through challenging levels, collect coins, avoid exploding, and find the magical well to escape before you run out of time!
My Journey So Far
When I started this journey, I had no experience in making a game. After a lot of trial and error, thousands of hours spent watching tutorials and reading documentation, and some failed projects, I finally found my inspiration in classic games from the ‘90s. This led to the idea of making Rolling Bombs.
Development Insights
Over the past year, I've focused on learning how the engine works, the blueprint language, Blender to model my main characters, and some basic concepts of game design. The community's support helped me find solutions, and forums, Q&A, and people's support have been invaluable to me. Now, with a fun and challenging game taking shape, I'm excited to share this journey with you.
First Year Video Showcase
In my first devlog video, I’ll walk you through the game’s concept, key features, and initial development steps. You’ll get an inside look at the process and see how the game has evolved from a simple idea to a playable game.
