This weekend I decided to come up with a new actually proper logo for Gilded Octopus Studios. I have some super cool upcoming business opportunities, deals, and expansions in store so I needed a better logo. So I opened up Krita and went to work. I started out with a variation of a previous one which you probably wouldn’t recognize because I didn’t use it on very many things. It was inspired by a famous window at a french aquarium. It’s a brass octopus in a circle. After looking at a variety of logos I decided the name should be included in it or below it. The circle with the octopus in the center just wasn’t coming out right so I tried a couple variations.
While looking for more logo examples I came across Night Dive Studios. Go check them out https://www.nightdivestudios.com/info/. They have the most gorgeous logo and website. They also make games and have published over a 100 titles. I mean Wow serious goals right there. I really liked the octopus tentacle in their logo. So I tried a single octopus tentacle but then I added two more because one was just a little lonely. I still had the brass circle which they were holding onto. By this point I had discovered a font I really liked for the words and figured out a lovely gradient color for them.
Then I had the idea to get rid of the circle and surround the words with tentacles. Every tentacle I added just looked better and better. I added the skirt as well to tie them together. The tentacles that had been holding onto the ring looked a little empty though so then I had the idea to have them holding harpoons in a color that matched the words. After that it was just a matter of doing some high lights and shadows to make it a little more 3d and some messing with the contrast and sharpness.
. So the octopus is longer a golden brass color. You might be asking why. I really love the colors of my website which is based off of a photo. The unique colors remind me of like a female hacker. I wanted the logo to go with the website. I’ve been using stock photos for awhile for profile pics for social media and I wanted to switch to using my own art now that things are getting more serious.
So I came up with a little story about the gilded octopus to explain where it gets it’s name from. So the name is based off of a cryptide octopus named the gilded octopus because it gathers gold from ship wrecks and deep water gold seams. Much like a dragon it hoards these glittery baubles in a lair or cave.
I love the idea of a sort of underwater niffler as my mascot. In fact I may make up a comic at some point about their adventures and escapades.

It is a good idea to change the logo to make our organization more professional. But I am not sure if the new logo will attract people to join our organization. Try this https://masterbundles.com/templates/presentations/powerpoint/consulting/ site for more help about presentation. It looks like a more professional logo and it looks nice when you put it on your website or in a newspaper. The old one looked like a cartoon version of the company and it didn't look professional at all.
