Hey there! ?
As a game audio professional, i've been using audio middleware for years. Specifically Fmod Studio.
Since im always simultaneously working on 2-3 projects, tools like these speed up my workflow and efficiency to no end!
What's more is that they save my programmers and developers TIME AND MONEY whilst working on their side of things. Instead of asking them to implement ideas that i have to make interesting and unique audio experiences, i can do all the heavy-lifting inside of Fmod.
Essentially trialling my ideas, testing them with Fmod and then pushing changes to them to view in-game.
If any devs out there are looking to get into audio middleware, or are curious to learn more, i've started a mini-series on YouTube called FMOD IN 2 MINS.
And because i HATE reading manuals, i've decided to make each video SUPER SHORT. Usually explaining a cool feature in 2 mins or less.
So here's a video to get started:
Below is a 4 mins video on how to set up your Fmod Studio project for a game project.
I go through a bunch of features that Fmod contains and show you the most important windows of the software.
THE VIDEO ALSO INCLUDES THE TEMPLATE DOWNLOAD FOR FREE!! YAY!!
There's a link in the description for you to get your hands on it, and explore it. Free to use on whatever you're working on. I don't think there are enough Fmod templates out there (aside from PowerUp Audio's Celeste project) so i want to help change that!
If you enjoyed it, please let me know in the comments! It would really mean a lot to hear how i can improve and make better tutorials.
Happy Fmod-ing!
