new fps ideas - are they good?

Few things -

Bleeding wounds - HL FireArms did this, and gave you bandages to heal with. Opera did it too, but the only way you could heal is by using your Heroic Act.

Shaky gun - All for it. I learned to counteract the spray of most weapons in Counter-Strike (I got banned from five servers because I was headshotting like mad with a M249. )

Shot to the eye - hpotter2, you say "incredibly realistic". You get shot in the eye, you lose about half the back of your skull (I''m assuming this is a fairly heavy caliber round). I think that''d cause more trouble than a wavy gun.
Sqeek.
Alright, here I go:

1. How many guns have a nice, steady little green crosshair painted right in the middle of your field of vision...hmmm...none. Most guns either have iron sights, or a scope, and professionals use the iron sights on practically every shot. When you''re firing from the hip, it is much more difficult, you can''t tell exactly where the barrel of the gun is pointing, because it isn''t necessarily pointing where you''re looking. You would NOT have a nice little crosshairs to tell you where to shoot. So, here''s what you can do: First click of the primary mouse button makes the character shoulder the gun, so he/she can aim through the iron sights/scope. While the gun is shouldered, the primary mouse button fires, and the secondary mouse button unshoulders the weapon. Get it? That makes it much more realistic, since most shooters can shoulder a gun and pull the trigger for an accurate shot in a split second. ON easier difficult levels, you can add a short time delay so the newbies can aim a bit better.

2. Damage systems need to be completely redone, people do not have "100 Health Points" they have blood, can feel pain, and too much pain induces shock, loss of blood results in either unconsciousness or death. Five shots to the limbs will not kill you immediately, but it will HURT LIKE HELL, and I imagine that it''s very hard to shoot properly when your mind is clouded by pain. At that point, you''re probably gonna pass out from the pain, unless you have a constant flow of morphine in your bloodstream. Now, if you get shot in the kneecap, you''re as good as dead, you cannot run with a blown out kneecap, you''re gonna bleed a lot, and it''s gonna hurt, but you still might be able to point your gun at people, just not move. A shot to the head or the eye will kill you, because it blows out your brain, considering an unarmoured opponent, it doesn''t really matter what calibre the gun is either.

3. Firing a gun while running is tough, unless you''re spraying and praying with a submachine gun. You move up and down and such when you run, and so does the barrel of the gun. Now, if you''re standing, accuracy is good if you know how to use a gun properly, are standing in the right stance, etc. Crouching and going prone improve accuracy greatly, but hinder your movement.

4. Ammo types, now...this is a problem CS seems to have, CS seems to think that all the bullets in the game are a combination of Armour Piercing and Jacketed Hollow Point. If an AP bullet goes through your helmet, and grazes your skull, it''ll hurt, but it won''t kill you. A JHP bullet won''t get through your helmet, but if it strikes you the same way without a helmet, it''s bye-bye life. JHP bullets have a tendancy to tumble upon impact, forming really disgusting wounds, and ripping heads apart like ripe melons.

And now, the top thing that should be added to FPSs!

MODULAR WEAPONS AND ACCESSORIES!

YES! Global Operations did the accessories, but it needs to be done. Underslung grenade launchers, laser aiming devices, scopes, silencers, extended magazines, they can all be added!

And Mods! Great for a slightly futuristic FPS. You know the Steyr AUG? Completely modular. You can take a Steyr AUG and, with the right parts, turn it into a 9mm Submachine gun. Yes, it''s true...and I''d love to see something to that effect in a FPS. Just think, no guns, just gun parts, the customization! THE POSSIBILITIES! Just think, let''s say you found the parts to assemble a nice 5.56mm assault rifle...now let''s say you just found a .50 ammo chamber and barrel! You can now make an incredibly powerful assault rifle! Chew holes in the opposition! Destroy walls, doors, and MORE! Take out opponents through walls! FUN!

Ok, I''m done.

Why?!?
Why?!?
