I''ve been looking every where I can think of for alternet DLS(Downloadable Sound) sets made general song writing to replace the horrificly stale standard set. I just want one that has reasonable quality sounds across the board that I will not need to purchase. However I seem to find no free alternet sets! There are some good sets that can be licensed for use, but I just need something for use on a demo project right now. Help!!! P.S. If someone says to go search Google I will slap you! I''ve spent 4 hours combing through results there.

I've never had any luck finding DLS sets on the net at all. You're going to have to dig in there and build your own set of sounds. Once you've read the tutorial and get in there, especially if you playtest the sounds as you author them, you'll get the hang of it. You should also check out the DirectMusic forum on Yahoo. Those guys are hardcore.
