The "Lord Of The Rings Contest" thread has disappeared. Did someone delete it !? There was 500+ posts in this thread. Alot of work has been made through the discussion. How the hell is it possible for such a thread to disappear ?
I wondered the same thing.. when I looked in the top x of posts the LOTR thread was gone...

Anyone? maybe someone said something wrong and they deleted it..

I noticed that just after it was deleted. (Yes, it was deleted. Moderators and staff members can). I mailed Rhino about it and he told me that it was someone with NeHe''s login that deleted it (i.e. NeHe or NeHe_Lover) I mailed NeHe about it but My mail server has been going through trouble and I don''t think it got through. I didn''t think it was important enough to re-mail about. btw, you can access a cached version here.

"Hey! I hate these Microsoft guys! What a rotten compiler! It only accepts 16,384 local variables in a function!"
That''s weird. I wonder why s/he may have done that.

If one post was offending, why not just delete the single post ?
I can''t quite envision NeHe doing this... It''s a conspiracy I tell you!

Maybe there was a, er, quarrel........... 8:
Well, if Nehe is reading this.. Could you tell us why you deleted it?

nehe has been acting a bit odly recently, other than posts they have been deathly quiet since the contest was over. He hasn''t responded to (at least my) email, has been posting ads for activision and another thing that _Really_ bugs me but I won''t go into. And now deleting the thread.
strange.
Forgive me for necroing, but was this ever resolved? 500+ posts should still show up in the stats, even after deletion (OMFG)...

OMFG!!! is in the stats page because it was deleted in such a way as to be saved in the deleted threads forum. It''s possible that only staff members can do this. Anyway, it''s more likely the thread was just deleted.
Erm... I''m not quite sure which thread you''re refering to...

When was this thread created?
Which forum?

Thanks, I''m just a little curious...
