You might want to try using a download manager, or find another mirror by visiting Google and searching for the exact filename of the zip file.

Can the DX8 SDK be downloaded from anyplace besides MS? I was looking at it yesterday - 45 Mb for the VC version.

C++ stuff in my DXSDK folder occupies ~110 MB (4 MB bin, 10 MB docs, 9 MB include, 8 MB lib, and 77 MB samples), so 45 MB compressed file isn''t out of the way. Then you don''t want to live without the debug runtime, now do you?

Ok, this is what you need to do...but don''t tell anyone SHHH!!!

Go to a bookstore and buy ''Game Programming All In One''. It has the sdk on the cd that comes with it.

I have the DX8 stuff - which is good enough for me for now! If I had a larger hard disk and a faster connection I probably would have grabbed it yesterday - but since I don''t - I can wait.

The self extracted file is corrupted for DirectX SDK. So get a copy of WinZip and open that file through it. Then unzip it in a directory. The setup files and other neccessary item will be unzipped in that directory. Run the setup to install DirectX.
