I haven''t actually tested your engine (sounds like it kicks arse, though). I''m just making a suggestion regarding everyone commenting on the speed of your character movement (too fast, yes?).
Howz about you update your game state (ie character positions etc) with respect to time instead of frames drawn. This will mean that it will run at the same ''game speed'' on any machine, but pump out the max amount of frames that the machine can produce, making it nice and smooth looking AND completely playable on good ''puters
Just use the system clock or something, although I''m not sure exactly what sort of overhead this incurrs... shouldn''t matter with the frame rates you''re getting
