Hefty download, but worth it if you''ve never played Quake...
everyone should be addicted to Quake (1, 2, 3, n...) at some point in his/her life. It teaches good stress management techniques and makes you more sociable

Also, it makes you sleep deprived, underfed and fail every college/university test for about a year and a half or so :-)

Or if you''re bandwidth-deprived, download the demo of Quake 1. It doesn''t look as nice, but it''s kinda the same.

But do the demos have the console?

Yes, Quake 1 has the console, and yes the shareware version does too. All the console is is a command prompt (kinds like DOS) that allows you to do many many things within the game so you don''t have to restart and change them outside of the game. Very handy indeed.
