about armor and models
Im a RPG of the past i need to have different armors...
how would i go about putting the different armors and apparel on a 3d model... specifically an .md2 model??????????
MD2's probably aren't the best solution for a multi-part model situation like this. I would recommend looking at the MD3 model format. Not only does it support the use of tags to link multiple MD3 files together, but each surface in one MD3 mesh can have its own skin file. So if you didn't want to design a new model for each piece of armor, you could just make new skin textures for the chest and change the skin for each type of armor.
Oh yeah, and the MD3 format is geared towards 3D card based applications, as opposed to MD2 which is designed for a hybrid software / 3D-card engine.
