How about this for a game idea?
A 3D fighter (like tecken, virtual fighter, etc.) using the style of fighting in the movie "Gladiator". Good idea?

You mean a gladitorial combat game? Sounds alright, to be honest my opinion is not what people think of your idea - everybody has ideas, including me.
I got loads of ideas, but at my current level, their implementation just ain't gonna happen for now.
To me, the most important thing is CAN you do it?.
If I was designing this game - I wouldn't just make it a Tekken with togas. Try coming up with a cool combat system (think Prince of persia 1, or Panza Kick Boxing, both on the Amiga).

Okay, thanks for that intelligent critique.
Actually, don''t you think that this movie was made to be into a game like this. It has just about the right number of characters for a fighting game. Maximus, Tigris of Gaul, the African guy, the tall guy who Maximus fought along side of (the guy who tested his food), the guy who had his head cut off, Commodus, a couple of the guys from that first fight, etc.

Questions end with a question mark. It helps us understand that you''re asking something (whether rhetorically or not).[/anal]
To answer the question, no, not really. Multi-planar, multi-opponent fighting games end up looking like Double Dragon (classic, great for its time) or Fighting Force. It can be done, fa'' sho'', but I don''t think it''s a seamless transition potential (or a quick buck attempt would have been made by now).
