What is the most suitable way to create characters for a RPG/Adventure game like Baldur''s Gate? Sprites or (Milkshape / MD2 / MD3) Models? I''ve got a Loader for STATIC MS3D Models and ANIMATED MD2....

you can make hi-res 3d models then take picture of those (different angles) and use those pics as sprites for your game.. but i you should make low/hi res 3d models (ms3d is a good format) then use these.

if it is a game like baldur''s gate, then you''ll probably have bunch of characters on screen at the same time, then make a dynamic LOD system or simply do like quake3 (make 3 versions of the same model.. low res, regular, and hi res).

the good point with 3d models is that the characters could walk in any directions (bad point though if your collision detection''s code does not work so well) instead of right/left/back/forward for sprites.
