Hello, I am fairly new to the OpenGL scene. I am getting about fairly well, but does anyone know of a good Raycasting tutorial? For lights and all, IE: Spotlight -> ray of light. I want to do similar with opengl. Much thanks for any help! Edited by - ThinIce on March 23, 2002 7:08:14 PM

Im not to sure of any tutorial but i can tell you what i would do. Try using a quadratic cylinder and texture map it with a semi-transparent texture that represents light bouncing off air (sort of like when u shine a flashlight through dust) and create a light source near the end of the quad that has a low intensity and that should work. Not to sure bout how good it would look, never tried it, but it should be easy to control and do so its up to u.
