Okay, don''t flame me or anything if this has already been asked....I''m new... I''ve been into modelling for games etc. for a fair bit now. But I just recently thought about learning to program so I can make games....I''ve just started learning c++ (I''m on Day 6 of ''Teach yourself c++ in 21 days...) and am currently using the free (command line) borland 5.5 compiler. If I want to make games will this do or will it be better to invest in something like Vis.C++? Over and out.... Saint [http://www.saint7.cjb.net]

These questions have been asked repeatedly here, and addressed in several articles as well. There is no "correct" answer, so look for the other threads (here and in the DirectX forum, mostly), and look at the articles in the "Start Here" section.

I''m closing this thread to prevent yet another debate over these questions.
