I would just like to say hello and introduce myself. I am 14 years old and i''m just about to start C/C++.(I have tried before but my compiler didnt work so i quit. That was when I was 13.) Lately I have been thinking about what i wanted to do as a career and being interested in games and always wanting to develop them I found myself searching on the internet for different programming languages. So here I am. I may need some advice along the way so I''ll need your help. THANX A LOT ~BSGamePlaya~

Hi, Welcome to GameDev! =D
If I were you though, what I''d do if you''re not doing it already
is take a class at the high school! =D
And yes, you should use C++.

If your new to programming beware, C++ is not beginner friendly. Expect to get a few hundred error messages with your first few compile''s .

Once you''ve mastered it though, anything else should seem simple.

Just another word of encouragment, welcome to the
game development scene !!

If you don''t know it already, you''re going to have more
fun making games, than actually playing them, and if that
isn''t something that you already feel, it will soon start
to grow inside.

Just remember: Baby Steps.
Thats whats important, in order for you not to loose your
momento.

And remember, above all else, have phun !!

I''m here if you have problems or questions, just click

Wow...thats sounds extrodinarily like me...
I started C++ when I was 13, but I stopped because my book was stupid (it supposedly for beginners only, but it started programming windows by the second chapter, and just taught you new teachniques 3 chapters after what seemed nessicary. I quit because I though endl was end1 :|). After about a year (when I was 14), I took it up again, and since then I have learned a lot about C++, (very) little about Windows Programming (I''m getting there...), and I learned Ti-Basic, Z80 ASM (for my TI calc), and a few other geeky computer things to do my homework for me and to let me play games at school
Right now I''m working on a Starcraft map (a remake of turret Defence, I''m Blueraja, expect it to be in within the next couple of days), and a map in CounterStrike (although, after being discouraged out of my last idea, I''m a little short on ideas)...
