Free modeling 3D program needed
I''m looking for a 3D modeling program that is not a huge download and can be easily modified. Also it would be nice if it was aimed towards designers.

Try Blender. The basic version is free and there is a huge user base: http://www.blender3d.com/

This is a question better suited for the Visual Arts forum, rather than Game Design-- so I''ll move it there.

Gmax! It is a scaled down version of 3D Studio Max and it is free! The DL is kinda hefty... about 80+/- megs... 4 parts. Just cue it up and DL it overnight. It is WONDERFUL!

It is free to use and learn, but to EXPORT your models into a format that is game friendly you have to negociate a price and pay serious money. Its probably cheaper than 3D Studio MAX but honestly, either find 3DS MAX 2.5 on the cheap or look into learning Milkshape 3D (as its $20).
