the Wildcat 2 makes my private parts feel all warm and fuzzy (i believe it has two full OpenGL hardware pipes in parrallel)

IIRC they have a lesser fillrate than the newer consumer-level cards (GF3 etc)... but OMG their geometry handling capabilities in wireframe mode are ridiculous
-a person- i have no idea what''s the diference between consumer cards and industrila cards. i simply want to know what is the "Fastest 3d video card in the world for today".

if we weret alking consumer level it would be the Radeon 8500. But i can see i guess we aren''t talking consumer level. Also the ATi drivers are improving. You have to give them time. They''ll get better. Remember nVidia didn''t release the best set of drivers for the GF3 they keep getting better you just have to give them time.
actually, as of when you guys posted, it would be the GF4 leading the consumer market yeah?
just stumbled over this in my travels:

all i can say is "drool"
Hrmm, if i had to guess I''d say a Cirrus Logic card. It''s got the CL-GD5426 chipset which just flat out smokes anything on the market, and its 512K of memory gives you plenty of room in the buffer for page flipping and stuff.

I just ordered mine today but the co. i ordered from is sold out and have them on back order. I can''t wait to get this puppy and try out F-15 Strike Eagle II on it. Finally gonna get off this 16-color card and on to something with 256!

P.S. Hrmm is it just me or is this post about 10 years too late?

Heh. I remember getting excited over buying an EGA card. I was tired of playing space quest I in crappy 4 color CGA.
