It looks like I will be attending the GDC in March. Anyone else from here going to be floating around? I plan on being there for the tutorials on the first 2 days as well as many of the conference sessions. Here is a partial list of the things I hope to be able to attend: * 109-Effective Project Management (Day 1 tutorial) * 204-AI Behavior Representation Techniques for Computer Games (Day 2) * AI in Computer Games Roundtables and Interactive Discussion * AI in Strategy Games * Real-Time Strategy Game Balance * More of the 400 Rules of Game Design * Two Dozen Ways to Screw Up a Perfectly Good Project * Laws of Making Massively Multiplayer Games * A Year (or 2) in the life of a startup * Startup Horror Stories * Building a Third-Generation Online Persistent World Game * Online Anarchy- Massively Multiplayer from a Design and Architectural Point of View * Preproduction My finace''/business partner will be joining me for the conference part so that she can attend some of the business-related sessions. I hope to get a chance to run into some of you there... some to shake your hand and have a beer... others to smack upside the head! Let me know if you are going to attend and I will make a point of writing down some names so I can make a point of seeking you out! I think I''ll check to see if I closed any of your threads before I meet up with you

I''ll probably be there, if I can scrape the money out of my bank account XD

Tim

Sadly not; maybe next year. Would be great to talk in person: the threads go so much more quickly that way

It''s getter closer...

hee hee, this email was sent out to the winners of the IGDA scholarship competition:
quote:

Student Group Gathering
Jeff Ward from James Madison University will host the Student Groupie -- a GDC
event where students can gather, hang out, network and have a good time. Meet
students from all over the world with an interest in game development (and possibly
find someone to team up with for a future project). Drew "Gaiiden" Sikora from
Gamedev.net will be there signing autographs and interviewing people for Gamedev.net.
The event will be held in the IGDA Booth on Thursday, March 21st from 2:30-3:30pm.
Hope to see you all there!

I know the guy, Jeff (Warden) and he meant it as a joke, but the person who ultimately emailed it out modified it a bit

So if you all want autographs, you''d better be there. I dunno about these interviews tho...lol this is too funny
