Human Modelling in Blender

Hello, Im attempting to model a human body (at least something resembling one in Blender, but am having a lot of trouble. I know most people use 3DSMAX or whatever, but does anyone know how to properly do a head and body in Blender? i tried doing one using surface curves, extruding downwards, subdividing then fooling around with the CV''s'' but it is sooo hard to get it anatomically (however you spell it) correct. Any help would be appreciated, as well as links to tutorials, ANYTHING really

I have only had Blender about two weeks and i really like. I dont think im anyhwhere near your skill level, but I did find a tutorial on creating a cartoon character in Blender.

The techniques can most likely be used to create the anatomically (however you spell it) model you want.

Go to the Question and Answer forums on the Blender site and do a search for the Head Generator.
Some dude wrote a script that will make a head for you, and you just have to move the sliders around to customize it.
