My new game idea

Me and my friends want to make a game. It has kinda been placed upon me to come up with the idea from thier suggestions. So here is what i got. The name will be changed, because first of all it sucks and second of all its generic enough where im sure its taken. Please let me know what you think of it, and things that would be cool to add to the idea, or anything that i should really not put into it. Street Racer Street Racer is a game which simulates car racing in the streets. You drive your car against opponents and bet money. Money lets you buy new parts for your car, buy a new cars, and go to new places. The game will have a single player mode and a multi-player mode. In multi-player mode, your driver is on a server and you race against other people on the server (think massive multi-layer online racing game). The game will center more around multi-player than single player. An important aspect of the game is to make it easy to build new cars and submit new levels to the server. To make a new car will cost money in the game. New levels can be added to the server (there will be some kind of limit to how many a person can submit in a certain time limit). People can drive them and vote on them. After a certain number of votes, the level will become a part of the server. To make all this possible, custom editors will have to be made and be distributed with the game. To have these editors open-source would make a lot of sense, because it would help build a community around the game. The game will use SDL for windows, input and sound. Rendering will be done with OpenGL. GTK will be used for the GUI of the editors. This will allow for easy porting across a wide range of platforms. A multi-player only version of the game will be available for free download or on a cheap cd. The single player version will be sold. A free trial will be available for the multi-player and then will cost money on a monthly basis.

And you SHOULD be able to race agains the other palyers at that server and map atthat time ...

What you could win stuff by making a really good level ?
Like ranks ... and if you wanna make acommunity around it, build in a chat client and a forum IN the game (look at Tribes 2)
