I dreamt of an MMORPG idea last night
it was an MMORPG set in a small town, each player was given a house and an NPC family Kids dog cat etc, anyway there was this old church with lots of evil creatures zombies vampires great big red flamin demon things coming out and every night all the players tried to defend their families, stop them from becoming zombies. and every day the players did trade skills to repair the doors roofs and make weapons, or raid the church armed with wooden stakes etc.
anyway my house was really close to the church and I was trying to move my NPC family out to a friends house further away but they kept going back for stuff !! dollies, the cat, my wife left the oven on Jeeez it was a nightmare.
wish someone would code this nightmare up then I could play it every night
that´ll teach ya to stay away from the ol´ moonshine... the idea doesn´t sound too bad though, try writing it up.
Kind of sounds like that ol black and white movie with zombies ?(night of the living dead)?
However, I dont really see how this requires massive online players?? In fact, what happens to your family as you log off. Games usually have 5X time scale(1 real minute = 5 game minutes, for example). If you want "persistence" then keeping your family alive while your gone is a huge issue. Oh, and you didnt give any reason why it would be better as multiplayer. Why would *I* want to defend town, when noone else is logged in to help!!
(Try single-player first, no need to flood the multiplayer market just because its "new")

That happens to me when I go to bed tired from coding, and sometimes when tired from playing . . . stay all night fighting evil.
not a bad idea though, but yes, single player would be a better idea, you might add a plot, because if someone was in that situation, they would eighter move or find the source of their problems and shut it off
Good luck.
PS: Wasnt there a Playstation (or other console) game where at night monsters would haunt the village, and everybody had to be inside their homes? anyone remembers? was it Brave Fencer Musashi?
