New demo : Voyage
Hi!
Could someone please try my new (tech)Demo : Voyage. It's the first thing created with new engine Unity. Demo is basicly just camera chasing particle system over some terrain / forrest.
It should work on win2k/XP system but IT DOESN'T WORK ON WIN 98(SE) AND WIN ME. It runs with about 35FPS on my Duron&TNT2 so it should fly on GeForce..
Demo:

Some Features :
-Random generated trees(with some stupid LOD)
-Correct terrain collision detection
-Real-Time terrain morphing
-Geo-mipmapping for CLOD
-QuadTree with frustum culling
-Heightmap generation using varius methods(sinus hills, fault line,...)
-Config files for just about everything
-Lensflare FX
-Particle System
-and much much more...
Keys :
Esc - Exit
Tab - FPS&Stats off/on
A - Animation/Free walk
S - ScreenShot
G - Ground under particle system starts "growing"
H - Add hill under particle system
(tech)
W - Wireframe

You should never let your fears become the boundaries of your dreams.

Not bad!
Crashed on startup in WinXP with 256 MB, GeForce2MX, Athlon 1.2.
However, it ran fine when i changed the executable to Win2000 compatibility mode. Got around 32 FPS.

Your demo worked fine on my system, which is a AMD Athlon 1GHz/Win2K and Geforce 2 MX graphics card.
The average FPS seemed to vary greatly from 32ish up to around 60. I found one problem with the lens flare. I added a few hills. (Well, a great line of them actually. I noticed that the sun and lens flare are still visible, even if they are supposed to be behind a hill

Your demo crashed on my system...
Athlon XP 1800+, GeForce3 ,256MB, Win98 SE

Demo worked fine with my system (WinXP no compatibility mode used (all HotFixes installed) & ASUS v7700 GeForce2GTS 64Mb o/c to 235Core/400Mem) FPS was most of the time over 45Fps and went to 55 sometimes (windowed mode, I didn''t test fullscreen -- I hate fullscreen) (and I''m in AGP 1x due to my K7M and the famous Irongate bug in 2x mode... *URRG*)
The demo was nice, smooth and nerver too fast nor to slow... I loved the lens flare. But you need more/better textures
On the down side, there is a lot of overdraw ( the sky & the land ). You should try making a octree/bsp system and use it with frustrum culling (with compiled vertex arrays -- I''m trying to do that now...)
Well overall it was a good demo, I say you stil have some work to do if you want to make the next Quake
