I just bought a book at borders from 3ds wanted to check it out and all but the actual modeling software didn''t come with it.

I was wondering where you got your modeler or where can I get a modeler.......

3D Studio is like $3000. Student copies are less if you are a student. But they are generally older version.

I highly recommend milkshape3d. Its simple to use and nehe has a tutorial (#32) on importing the models.
