Quake 2 source GPL'd

For anyone interested, John Carmack and id have released the source to quake2 under the GPL. Some mirrors are listed at http://slashdot.org/articles/01/12/22/053211.shtml Not a bad christmas present from carmack to the community!

Thanks for the info. I went looking around and found that GameDev has a mirror of the source at Gamedev.net Quake2 Source Mirror.

can someone tell me how big that file is??? I just searched around, found some mirrors and such, but no filesize :o and I cant be downloading large files from my 56k modem - it''ll die!!! =)

if you don''t know the size of something start downloading it and your comp will retrieve the file size with the info. if you don''t like the size stop downloading.
