Skills & Requirements for Programmer Position
1. Video Game Programming Experience in C++ language skills with any A.I. knowledge as a plus.
2. Code Optimization Skills (for the Game Code, the Game Engine & Console Environments.)
3. A Weekly/Hourly Commitment to Work on the Project at a Specified Location in the City of Arts, North Adams, Massachusetts USA. (No remote work options.)
4. Industry Standard Quality of Applied Skills & Work is Required.

Game type will be a 3D polygonal side-scroller platformer.

Your job will be to develop an offline simple game engine, from scratch, with a simple level building environment where the game game be assembled and then program in the functionality of each part to work with one another and then finally to port the game to the Nintendo Switch on a Switch Development Kit. You are not trying to build an all purpose game engine like Unreal Engine, you are to build the barebone necessities for this specific project. After it is ported, the game must be tested on the Switch and all and any bugs must then be fixed and the game must be reported. This process must be repeated as many times as possible until the game functions as intended on the Switch. The same process may be required for porting to the PlayStation 4 & or PlayStation 5.

There will be a possible break in your work after the game has been structured, while the levels are being assembled, until you are needed again to oversee the porting.

Position will be available to start between April 15th, 2025 & March 31st, 2025. The duration of the position will be ongoing, until your allotted section of work is completed. New revolving projects will always be an option for you to continue.

Work will be contractual.

Skills & Requirements for UE5 Position

1. Overall Knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.0 Game Engine Software. (which includes but is not limited to, the interface, UI, controller mapping, placing assets & assigning properties to assets. Changing settings, scaling & modifying value properties of assets. Setting the parameters of levels, cinematic cutscenes & menu screens. Rigging cameras, lighting, particle effects and animations within the game space.) If you are unfamiliar with Unreal Engine but learn fast and commit to learning this software on your free time, you can still apply. (C++ knowledge is a huge plus.)
2. Advanced knowledge of Blueprints in UE5
3. The knowledge of how to port the game to the Nintendo Switch on a Switch Development Kit.
4. The knowledge of how to fix any and all bugs found on the Switch port, within UE5 and the report it.

To teach someone how to place assets in levels to build the actual gameplay levels. To set up all modes, screens and codes in the game so it is a fully functioning game. Optimization of all code must be done. After the game is completed, you must then port this game to the Nintendo Switch on a Switch Development Kit. The game must be tested on the Switch and all and any bugs must then be fixed and the game must be reported.
