Hi everyone~ My name is Aeri, nice to meet you all!

I'm looking forward to meeting someone who can help me bring my idea to life.

As we all know, Yandere Simulator was (and still is?) a huge deal in the indie space, but we all know how it went down, with questionable actions from the creator, infinite development time and overall a game that isn't executed as well as it may be.

However, I love the concept- a girl so crazy in love she'll kill every potential rival in order to be with her love interest. It's cutesy but grim, which I think fills a blank for girls like me that grew up with DS and flashgames and would love a bit of a darker story that retains the charm of “girly” games.

So, let me share how I would approach the idea of creating a Yandere-like game!

I named the project 恋に狂う (koi ni kuruu), which roughly translates to ‘going crazy in love’ (therefore, a potential English title could be Crazy In Love). I think a RPG mechanic and visual style would lend itself nicely, mostly because of the timeless look and relative ease of making a game as a budgetless inexperienced developer (lol).

The main mission is really straight-forward- school setting, get rid of 7 rivals, one for each day of the week, in order to be able to freely date the love interest. Each girl would have their own routine and personality that makes their eliminating unique from one another.

Additionally, there would be side quests such as part-time jobs to earn cash and buy weapons/aids to facilitate the murders, as well as friendships that may (knowingly or not) help the protagonist achieve their goal. Studying at school may also increase their strength and other stats to make the killings easier, or straight up unlock new ways of getting rid of the rivals.

This is all just a rough concept for now, but I'm really looking forward to finding someone to help me make a reality. Please note that this is supposed to be a passion project with no expectations of making it big, just for the enjoyment of creating stories and games and the opportunity to improve one's skills.

Also note that my background is in visual arts, mostly film post production, so I really don't know what I'm doing, lol. I have a very basic understanding of game development and coding, but it would be hard for me to make this project reality by myself. And I'm very unfamiliar with Japanese culture, as I only consume Korean media, which is a country I used to live in. Since Korea and Japan are quite distinct, I only have a rough knowledge of Japanese media and culture. Any help in this regard too would be greatly appreciated!

If you're interested in joining the project, suggest any advice or anything really, feel free to contact me via email [koinikuruu@gmail.com] or Discord [koinikuruu].

Thank you all~!
