Hello! I'm taking my first steps in the world of video game development, I don't have much experience apart from my artistic level, so I'm looking for tips from more experienced people :DD

It is an RPG and pixel art style game, inspired by Undertale, Ib, Yumme Nikki, Over the Garden Wall and other series and games. It is about a boy who on a San Juan night ends up in an alternate world full of creatures from mythology, urban legends and crypozology, and he ends up in the care of three creatures who work in a cafeteria who will help him return him to his world, because if humans spend a lot of time in this parallel world they become corrupted. (with geopolitical wars and corruption involved)

Please! Give me tips to get started, I plan to use game maker since it seems easier for beginners!!!

@buunswot i am start getting started to game developing too (no coding background here) what really helped me to learn more fearures is to first create them at different projects to fully understand how they function and then implementng them to my main project!! also write down every mechanic feature you want to add and focus on them so you dont lose track beacuse as you start coding features a bunch of new ideas will come up!already having an art background is a huge plus since you want be dependable on assets! since i cant do art i only use basic animations and i rotate my weapons accordind to my mouse position. So could solve nunsances like this by having your own animations and casting them to your game throu code!! the idea sounds amazing i really hope to make it happen!! happy game developing buddy!!

@undefined Hey! Thank you very much for the recommendation!! <33

What you say makes a lot of sense! I was even thinking about making an unrelated game first to understand how to use the program, how to program different mechanics and similar things, I think it's better to make mistakes and learn in other projects before launching into the one that interests me hahaha. I wish you good luck also in the development of your game!! have fun c:
