So [something] is about to get ugly??
Why is the site so slow?
Hmmm… That could be a problem.
No, I am not a professional programmer. I'm just a hobbyist having fun...
Actually, from site data the 2 accounts appear to be the same person, but there once was a time we allowed multiple users to have the same username - a problem of 20+ years of legacy systems and data conversions missing special cases that I didn't even know was possible. Either way, semi-resolved for now until a more permanent solution can be determined.
Admin for GameDev.net.
1.5s is bad enough already, I raise you
And that was a faster load.
The site code is shit, simple as that.
Fruny: Ftagn! Ia! Ia! std::time_put_byname! Mglui naflftagn std::codecvt eY'ha-nthlei!,char,mbstate_t>
[something] trickles in.
The resilience theory is being tested.
I especially like it when the “Not connected to a network" page comes up and I have to refresh IP to wiggle past the gate.
The bright side is the excuses have always been entertaining.
Reminder: The topic is "Why Is The Site So Slow".
I have my theories that lean towards an attempt to auto regulate spam postings.
And/or overused admin controls directed towards IP aspects and a LOT of if/else type constructs.
↓↓↓ Bwahahaha…Can't wait to hear how this makes any difference regarding site speed for the rest of us.
Dev careful. Pixel on board.
I have a very vague memory of having a problem logging in many years ago and created another account to log in and ask for help. “MarkS_” may, in fact, be me.
No, I am not a professional programmer. I'm just a hobbyist having fun...
It's a joke of course but MarkS_ had hundreds of posts here and I'm sure you would remember if that was you.
ED: Just great, timestamped videos are broken. Anyway, go to the 2 minute mark.
