@Tom Sloper thanks Tom

Everyone does want 2 years of experience at entry level. I live in the Baltimore Washington Metro area. I know folks from Firaxis, ZeniMax, and former employees of Big Huge Games. Still hasn't exactly gotten me in, but that was sitting my college studies. It will take time and portfolio work for sure.

I don't know where Firaxis, ZeniMax, or Big Huge are located, and I don't feel like looking them up, but a quick look at https://gamedevmap.com/ doesn't show those companies in either Baltimore or Washington DC. Your best bet is to apply locally for the time being. Good luck!

(This is a hint to use https://gamedevmap.com/)

@Tom Sloper maybe the site is outdated. Firaxis is just North of Baltimore and ZeniMax is North of DC. There ar studios in the area as well such as Bethesda (Bethesda MD) and Big Huge (Timonium MD).

All of these studios are within an hour from my house.

I say all this because it's cool to be a part of the local community. I'm a member of the IGDA Baltimore and DC chapter. These smaller groups tend to stay in touch with the bigger studios in the areas they're stationed. Just the other day I had the honor of meeting the great Sid Meier in person!

OK. My search terms “Baltimore” and “Washington DC” excluded suburb names like Sparks and Hunt Valley and Timonium and Bethesda. I should have used search term “Maryland.”
