Hi all

Ok, to save you reading about my life, trails and tribulations before finding out that your not interested in my project idea I will get straight to it. One of my hobbies (I have several) includes a interest in history, especially the Anglo Saxons. I had an idea for an interesting project that's been on the back burner for a year or so and I have got to a point now where I feel I would love to see if I can make it happen. My aim on here to to try and find like minded individuals that are looking for a hobby project that would like to collaborate with me and bounce ideas around. It would be great to create something that is fun and enjoyable.

I'm Ethan, here's a little about me. I graduated university after studying for 4 years in games design. I specialised in 3d modelling and also did a bunch of level building. While at uni I worked with 3ds max, Maya, unity and unreal 4. If you want to check out some of my art then check out my artstation page

I also worked on a project called Serial Link with a uni friend and created a lot of environmental assets as well as weapons, along with creating modular building pieces and then making the level with them. Even though this project didn't get finished, it was a great learning curve for me.

I haven't been involved in any game dev projects since early 2020, Life got in the way and software that I used was too much money. After leaving uni I felt that I needed a break and there was no reason for me to sink endless hours into modelling objects in 3D for no reason. I did have any projects to build or any other developers to work with. I have got to a point where I miss what I did and want to get back into it but I have to have an end goal. Not necessarily a game that makes money, just something in a finished state. That could even be one level of a game. I am currently getting used to using Blender due to 3ds max and Maya being too expensive.

If you are looking for a project to join, let me know

@karfageniiy I am just in the “bouncing ideas around” phases currently so a programming isn't much use at this stage, however, if a programmer wants to bounce ideas around then they can jump on board. A GDD would list all the features you listed, and more. I have a basic one but still visualising the project. I am not planning to do much more else than make something fun and meet other devs, I wouldn't say I am building any kind of startup, nor plan on doing for a long time, if ever. In order to create a startup, one must have something to sell, or at least a product idea that they have researched and strategized to sell. I have neither. Thank you for the link to the article, it covers a lot of areas when looking for programmers.
